India for the first time has entered in top 50 countries of Global Innovation Index (GII), ranking making it to 48 and being the only among Central and South Asian nations. UP's Digital Reform For Agriculture

UP Government has launched India's first Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) portal. Time To Get India Started Up

The Indian Government has devised a new scheme to support start-ups, by promising investments of upto Rs.20 lakhs. It will be offered to entrepreneurs as validation of proof of concept, as deemed fit by a 12 member committee instituted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.

Oxford Languages has chosen 'Aatmanirbharta' as its Hindi word of 2020. Chosen by an advisory panel of language experts, the word was considered to appropriately reflect the ethos and preoccupations of the past year and has a lasting cultural significance.

The Tough Task Of Preparing The People's Budget

The process of preparing India's budget begins in late August-early September. This gargantuan exercise involves collating financial reports and receipts from all states, planning and allocating the expenditures for the next fiscal year, and resolving any conflicts that may occur in the process. India's Khadi Industry Goes Digital

Khadi And Village Industries Commission launched Khadi India's e-commerce site eKhadiIndia.com on December 31, 2020. It has a catalogue of 50,000 products across 500 categories of locally made khadi and village industry products, giving another shot in the arm to the campaign for Atmanirbhar Bharat.

INDIA GOES THE MILKY WAY

India is the largest producer and consumer of milk. The country produces approximately 187 million tonnes of milk. Most of the milk comes from buffaloes, followed by cows and goats. This productivity gain is down to dairy cooperatives that operate in different parts of the country.

India is leading the way to a cleaner future, by adopting ambitious emission reduction targets under the Paris Climate Accord. The country plans to reduce its emissions by 33% - 35% by 2030, largely by promoting renewable energy, like solar and wind, and improving energy efficiency.

THE ROAD TO PROGRESS

India now has the second largest road network in the world. Spanning over 5.89 million kms, it helps transport 64.5% of the goods, and provides the sole connection to the remotest parts of the country.

BIGGER AND FASTER

In 2015, BSE became the fastest stock exchange in the world, after clocking a median trade speed of six microseconds. The key to these lightening quick trades is BSE’s BOLT PLUS technology platform, geared to handle trade volumes of 900 brokers across 100,000 branches and thousands of retail investors.

INDIA GOES ORGANIC

India has the most number of organic farmers in the world, with 1.9 million farmers cultivating an area of 2.78 million ha. Nearly 20 states in the country have introduced specific regulation to encourage organic farming, with Sikkim becoming the first state to go completely organic.
